Breaks in Class Accommodation
Accommodation Wording Example: Breaks to stand/stretch/move to support disability and/or medical condition: in class or student may leave classroom as required (wording may vary)
Although students have the autonomy to leave class, accommodation related to breaks during class are provided with the intent to inform instructors that there may be a student in the class that may need to leave class, stand up and move periodically or frequently due to disability and/or medical condition functional limitations.
Reminder: The dignity and confidentiality of the student should always be a consideration, ensure not to call attention to a student utilizing their accommodations.
Students are responsible for ensuring they have access to lecture material; through other accommodations, contacting the instructor to discuss missed content, utilizing a classmate's notes etc.
