This year, we are thrilled to announce that our Lakehead University Orientation will be in-person. Lakehead International is excited to have you join us at our Fall 2022 International Student Orientation Session.

Orientation provides new Lakehead students with an opportunity to meet new friends, engage with Lakehead staff members and departments, ask your burning questions, and ensure that you have all the information about supports and services available at Lakehead University and within the community.

As an incoming Lakehead international student arriving Thunder Bay campus, you are eligible for our complimentary airport pick-up service. Please note this is for new students only and you must submit your application at least four (4) business days before your arrival date for us to process it.

Featuring a 'concession stand', grab a blanket, get cozy, and come joining for a movie night under the stars! Some lawn chairs will be provided. This event is free to attend. Bus planned from Georgian Barrie and back - RSVP form available soon.

Looking for some extra protection against COVID-19 this school year? The province’s GO-VAXX mobile vaccine bus will be rolling into campus this September.

The GO-VAXX bus will be set up on campus from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, September 10, and Sunday September 11. Students, faculty, staff, and community members will be able to receive a first, second, third or fourth dose of the vaccine. No appointment is required. Each bus operates as a fully functioning vaccine clinic with the necessary supplies and trained staff to provide assistance to people and ensure vaccines are administered safely. All COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed on board, including the required pre-vaccination screening and post-vaccination monitoring.

Anyone wishing to take advantage of the GO-VAXX bus to receive their vaccine is reminded to:

- Bring your health card. If you do not have a health card or your health card is expired, bring another form of government-issued photo identification such as a driver’s license, passport, status card or birth certificate.

- Eat and drink something before you arrive to prevent feeling faint or dizzy while being vaccinated.

- Dress for the weather in case there is a lineup.

On Sunday September 18th, join the Thunderwolves at Orillia’s community Terry Fox Run. Sport your Lakehead or Orientation team colours and run, walk, cycle, stroll, wheel or blade along the beautiful Orillia waterfront trail. Drop in to play some backyard style games on campus, meet fellow Thunderwolves and ask us about how to get involved in Athletics and Recreation this year! We will be offering on site intramural registrations and fitness room activations from 10-2pm.
