How We Can Help

We will be running group support sessions that you can attend to help develop your Academic Skills. We also will have drop-in times if you would like to talk to a fellow student and get assistance understanding where in the university to go for help.

Group Support Sessions

One of the key parts of this program is our group support sessions. Our sessions provide a variety of supports, including:

  • Academic Writing
  • Time Management
  • Study Skills
  • Homework Sessions
  • Exam Prep and more!

These sessions are provided in the Academic Support Zone (LI 2004) weekly on Thursdays from 3:00 PM-4:00 PM starting January 26th, 2023. Each session is set up differently based on the topic, which includes presentations, games, study sessions, or any combination of those. Go to the events calendar on the main page or the events tab to see specific events. If you cannot attend our in-person sessions, virtual sessions are available. Virtual sessions will be run on Tuesdays from 3:00 PM-4:30 PM at the following zoom link: https://lakeheadu.zoom.us/j/95260389911. If you need other accommodations please reach out to us with the contact info below.

Drop-in Support Sessions

Virtual times to meet with Lily are on Wednesdays from 3:00 PM-4:30PM with the following zoom link: https://lakeheadu.zoom.us/j/95260389911. Lily (She/Her)

Hi! My name is Lily and I am an international student from China. I am also a 3rd-year undergraduate business (information system) student. I enjoy writing, hiking, and singing. I love communication and listening to different ideas and thoughts from people.

I have met a lot of great professors, student staff, and friends at Lakehead University and they always support me. This is also one of the main reasons for me to try my best to provide support to you here.

Jonah (He/Him)

Hi! I’m Jonah and I am a 4th-year student in the Undergraduate History program doing a specialization in Public History. I have had a lot of experience on campus and am very excited to support students' academic journeys. Outside of school I love baking, skating, and playing video games with friends.
