FUTURE BUILDERS:
Indigenous Engineering Pathways
FUTURE BUILDERS is an Indigenous-led initiative that supports Indigenous youth as they explore futures in engineering, science, and technology - all grounded in culture, community, and Indigenous ways of knowing. This initiative is intended to advance Indigenous youth participation in engineering and STEM by co-creating culturally grounded, community-driven learning pathways that blend traditional knowledge with modern innovation.
This will include outreach programming for students in northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan, with an emphasis on engaging Indigenous youth and their communities to promote sustainable engineering.
This initiative is supported by a grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) PromoScience program.
