About IPSF
The Indo-Pacific Scholarships and Fellowships for Canadians (IPSFC) is a program that funds Canadian post-secondary academic organizations, university consortia, and research organizations to provide scholarships and fellowships to Canadian graduate students, academics, and researchers to study and undertake research in the Indo-Pacific region on topics aligned with Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.

The IPSF project at Lakehead University, which is led by Dr. Brigitte Leblon (Dean, Natural Resources Management) and Dr. Glenda Bonifacio (Dean, Social Sciences and Humanities), aims to conduct collaborative research with select universities of the Indo-Pacific region, specifically targeting the Republic of Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Fiji, and Vanuatu. This project will examine the impact of climate change on the natural and social environments, the geographically specific risks from natural hazards, and the gendered implications of climate change mitigation and adaptation for sustainable development, using a multidisciplinary approach.
