Apply to Write a Special Exam

If you decide to apply to write a Special Exam, you are encouraged to thoroughly review the criteria for Special Exams and the regulations to see if you may qualify.

How to Apply

To apply for a Special Exam, complete the Special Exam Application Form on or before the deadline. Please ensure you are adhering to the deadline dates. Late applications will not be considered.

You will be notified by your Lakehead email if you are approved to write a Special Exam for the course(s) in which you meet the criteria and regulations for your program/faculty.

Special Exam Location

Special Exams are written in the same location and same method as the original exam. Exams originally hosted in Thunder Bay will have Special Exams hosted in Thunder Bay and so on for each campus. Exams that were originally online will remain online. If you believe you have exceptional circumstances requiring you to write at a different campus you can use this campus change request form (coming soon).

You will be asked if you are registered with Student Accessibility Services. This will impact who reviews your request for a campus change.

If you are looking to move your special exam from in-person to online you must first discuss with your instructor if this change is possible or not and then your instructor must reach out to the scheduling office.

We cannot guarantee that requests to write at a different campus will be approved.
