Forestry and Environmental Management Students Support Neebing-McIntyre Floodway Planting

Students from Lakehead University's Forestry and Environmental Management programs recently contributed to the successful completion of the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway Planting, a riparian restoration project along the mouth of the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway.

Through hands-on fieldwork, students helped restore and enhance this important shoreline area, supporting habitat health, ecological resilience, and watershed protection. The project provided valuable experiential learning opportunities while demonstrating the students' commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.

The restoration effort highlights the important role that future natural resource professionals play in protecting and improving local ecosystems for generations to come.
