Safety and Security

The security guards maintain a strong presence on campus during all hours of operations. In addition to regular patrols, the guards are equipped to meet most emergencies including fires, and non-life threatening injuries

Mobile Safety App

Our MobileSafety app includes emergency contacts, a safety toolbox, and other important resources available at the touch of a button. The app allows users to easily access our walk-safe program, to quickly contact security if needed, and to use tools that can help in an emergency.

The app is available through the Apple Store and Google Play.

Safe Walk Program

This service is available for all students, staff and faculty members. If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe walking alone, you can be accompanied to your vehicle or bus stop by a member of the Lakehead security staff.

Parking

We understand that parking is a vital part of your daily routine, and we're here to make the process of obtaining a parking pass as smooth as possible. Whether you're a student, faculty member, staff, or a visitor, this page is your gateway to the information you need to secure your parking passes.

K.I.T - Keep in Touch

K.I.T stands for Keep In Touch. If you are working after hours or on weekends in a lab or office, let security know. You can advise us by a simple call to extension 8569 in Thunder bay or  2009 in Orillia.

Our patrol staff will check in on you. You can also arrange with the Security Communications Desk to call you at a predetermined time.
