TSC for Students

The Technology Services Centre (TSC) boasts a staff of over 30 highly trained and skilled individuals committed to supporting and strengthening our students’ academic careers by providing University-wide access to information and technology resources

Computer Labs

As part of that commitment, every student of our University is given an account that provides them access to use workstations located in any of our computer labs on campus. These Microsoft Windows-based systems provide our students with the tools to create documents, and spreadsheets, access to the internet, and a host of other functionality.  In addition to these labs, there are two Apple Macintosh Labs located in the Bora Laskin Building and the Visual Arts Building.  Some of our computer labs are equipped with digital imaging software, geographical information systems (GIS), and application development tools.  We are constantly improving our computer lab services and the TSC will continue its tireless effort to provide top-notch access to technology for our University students.

Printing Services

In addition to access to computers, all of our students enjoy the benefit of our printing services.  Every student can print for as low as 8 cents per page (for black and white), and 50 cents for colour (rates vary for full-colour plotter).  Printing is easy, and with our high-quality laser printers, your documents, posters, presentations, and other materials will always look their best.

Web-based email

What would student life be without an email account to write home to the family to brag about your latest A+ grade?  At the TSC we understand that email is one of the most important tools for communication and collaboration available.  As a result, we have partnered with Google to bring every one of our students the best web-enabled email service the world has to offer.  With 100GB space in your email and the full features of Google Drive, you can store anything you might possibly need over the course of your entire Lakehead academic career.  Coupled with the Google Calendar you can keep track of class times and maintain a schedule whether you are on campus, or at home for the holidays.
