Math Games for P/J

This non-credit, interactive workshop promotes the use of math games for a variety of purposes:

  • Focused observation and formative assessment of student reasoning
  • Scaffolding and challenging students' reasoning
  • Promoting positive social interaction
  • Promoting clear explanations of student reasoning and strategies
  • Differentiated instruction
  • Practice for automaticity

This workshop will include videos of math games in action in classrooms and will provide you with hands-on experience with introducing, playing, and modifying games. Participants will be given the material and instructions required to use math games in their classrooms.
