Math Games for P/J
This non-credit, interactive workshop promotes the use of math games for a variety of purposes:
- Focused observation and formative assessment of student reasoning
- Scaffolding and challenging students' reasoning
- Promoting positive social interaction
- Promoting clear explanations of student reasoning and strategies
- Differentiated instruction
- Practice for automaticity
This workshop will include videos of math games in action in classrooms and will provide you with hands-on experience with introducing, playing, and modifying games. Participants will be given the material and instructions required to use math games in their classrooms.
