Jenna Kirker

Originally from Johnstown, Ontario, Jenna spent more than 15 years living and working in Thunder Bay. She began her academic journey at Lakehead University’s Thunder Bay campus, where she developed a lasting connection with the Alumni Association of Lakehead University. Jenna holds a Master of Arts in History (2017), an Honours Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Education (2015) all from Lakehead University, in addition to a PhD from McMaster University. She previously served as Program Coordinator for the Alumni Engagement Program and continues to support alumni outreach, events, and engagement initiatives in her current role as an Alumni Ambassador.
A dedicated leader in the heritage and non-profit sectors, Jenna brings extensive experience in governance and volunteer service. She serves as President and Chair of the Board of the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society, providing strategic leadership and oversight, and as First Vice Chair of the Ontario Historical Society, contributing to heritage and governance initiatives at the provincial level. Her commitment to community service has been recognized through multiple awards, including the Volunteer Service Award from the Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society. In recognition of her professional achievements and ongoing service to her alma mater and community, Jenna was the recipient of the 2025 Trailblazer Alumni Award from Lakehead University.
As a member of the Alumni Association Board, Jenna is passionate about fostering meaningful alumni relationships, supporting current and future students, and ensuring Lakehead’s alumni community remains engaged, inclusive, and impactful.
