A new committee has been formed:

The Human Rights Law Student Committee is a new student group at Lakehead University. This committee is being led by Dreeni Geer, the Director of Human Rights and Equity, and Miriam Cohen, an assistant professor at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law.

The new committee is very excited to get underway and aims to build the human rights capacity of law students to serve as a resource for the wider University community and beyond. The students anxiously anticipate leading presentations and writing academic articles which will hopefully raise awareness, provide insightful information, and promote inclusivity within the community.

Professor Cohen has recently been awarded, and is the first person at Lakehead University, to receive a competitive research grant from the Canadian Bar Associations Law for the Future Fund, for her research in human rights across Canada.
