We know Financial Assistance is Important
We know how important financial assistance is for graduate students in Education. We, along with the Faculty of Graduate Studies, offer a wide range of funding opportunities for graduate students. Full-time graduate students on the Thunder Bay campus are eligible for the following types of funding:
Graduate Assistantships
Full-time graduate students are eligible for Graduate Assistantships (GAs). GAs are paid positions working to support a faculty member's teaching and research during the Fall and Winter terms. As a GA your duties may include, but are not limited to preparing classes, leading seminars, teaching, and marking. For more information about GAs, click the following link:
Note: Many graduate students in Education do receive GA positions; however, we cannot guarantee a position for all students
Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards
We offer a large number of scholarships, bursaries, and awards for graduate students in Education. Many of our funding opportunities have specific application requirements, processes, and due dates. Our faculty will also help you to complete scholarship applications such as the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s (CGS-M), or other Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) awards.
