Aboriginal Education

Gikinoo’amaadiwin – We Gain Knowledge

Lakehead University’s Department of Aboriginal Education offers people of Aboriginal descent the opportunity to become a teacher through a unique learning experience. This department works closely with each student in their journey to become a professional teacher certified by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).

As part of the Faculty of Education, we offer undergraduate programs that focus on Aboriginal traditions, languages, and teachings.  Our programs provide you with the knowledge, qualifications, and cultural understanding to make a difference in your student’s lives.
