A School Wide Strengths-based Intervention Program

In partnership with the Children’s Centre Thunder Bay and the Lakehead Public Schools, the Centre has implemented school-wide strengths based programs that included an examination of outcomes, specifically, the relationship between these programs and school climate, and academic performance of elementary school children. The program had an extensive evaluation component to ensure the program was successful in accomplishing the intended goals.Our current SSHRC grant has helped to expand these programs to other schools in the Lakehead Public Schools as well as schools in the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board and Conseil Scolaire de Deistrict Catholique des Aurores Boreales.
