The Lakehead University Psychology Clinic strives to offer training for master’s and doctoral students in clinical psychology and provide high-quality psychological services in-person and virtually throughout Northwestern Ontario. We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for clients of different age, race, ethnicity, ability, gender, religion, culture and sexual orientation. We strive to provide culturally-competent care that is supported by research evidence and adapted to meet the needs of the client.

Thanks to Bell Let's Talk, the Lakehead University Psychology Clinic is able to offer those providing health and social services no-cost individual and group-based psychological support.

Who we are

We are a mental health clinic comprised of registered psychologists and trainees in the master and doctoral clinical psychology program at Lakehead University.

Please Note: Services offered may be limited by the supervising psychologists' authorized scope of practice and trainees' competencies.

Fees

Thanks to Bell Let’s Talk, if you are a health or social service provider, you can receive individual and group psychotherapy services at no cost. We also offer, at lower cost, psychodiagnostic, group education and training, and and psychological assessments. We also offer, at lower cost, psychological assessments. If you or someone you know is interested in this service, just ask!

Confidentiality

All client information is private and kept in secure fi les at the clinic. Only the people who directly work with the client may access these files. Sometimes, during our training, we might discuss client cases but we won’t share any information that could identify you. We need your permission if we want to share or receive any of your personal health information with someone other than your therapist and the supervising psychologist. Sometimes, there are certain situations when the law or our regulatory body’s rules say we must break confidentiality to keep the client or others safe. Before your appointment, your therapist will tell you about these limits on keeping things private, and they can review this with you at any time at your request.

Supervisors

We have various supervisors with different clinical areas of practice and competencies. Our services available will depend on the supervising psychologists’ authorized scope of practice.
