For the very first time, this year's Homecoming Alumni Weekend in Orillia will host our Lakehead Celebrates – Alumni Honours Evening recognizing the deserving recipients of our annual awards program. Acknowledging Lakehead's one university, two campuses model, the Alumni Association Board of Directors endorsed a plan to alternate our main event, Lakehead Celebrates, between the Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses. On odd-numbered years, Orillia will host the main event, and on even-numbered years, Thunder Bay will host.
We look forward to introducing many of you to Lakehead Orillia for the very first time and showing you some of the famous Simcoe County hospitality! In addition to Lakehead Celebrates, several other in-person and virtual events will be hosted by our Simcoe County Chapter and Alumni and Annual Giving staff.
Thunder Bay Campus

In collaboration with our partners in Athletics, the Alumni Association has decided to standardize the Thunder Bay Alumni Homecoming Weekend after the Thanksgiving weekend each year. This allows us to link Homecoming with our season-opening hockey and basketball games each year.
The primary focus of the 2023 Thunder Bay Homecoming Alumni Weekend will be our varsity games, in addition to other events on campus and in the community planned by our new Thunder Bay Chapter.
In 2024, Lakehead Celebrates will return to the Thunder Bay campus, as well as the bi-annual Athletics Wall of Fame induction ceremony.
