For over 35 years the Alumni Association of Lakehead University has been bestowing the Alumni Entrance Award. It is one of the largest donor-funded awards at Lakehead University.
Jessica Nelson enters the Honours Bachelor of Arts in History and French Concurrent Education program this fall. Her intention is to pursue her law degree in the future at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. Jessica looks forward to continuing the family tradition set by her mother, Lisa Nelson (HBSCN '89), by attending Lakehead University.

“Hello and Bonjour. My name is Jessica Nelson, je m’appelle Jessica Nelson and it is such an honour to receive the Lakehead Alumni Entrance Scholarship this year! Winning this Award is so meaningful.
I would like to give back to my community of Thunder Bay through providing my services of Education and Law once I become a Criminal Prosecution Lawyer. I am enrolled at Lakehead University in the Honours Concurrent Education program at the Intermediate/Senior level with double majors in French and History.
I chose to attend Lakehead because I want to begin a familial legacy that will hopefully continue in future generations. Thank you so much for choosing me as this year’s recipient, I am more than grateful and excited to be receiving this Award!”
