English Department Professor wins Contribution to Research award.
The Department of English Nominations committee submitted Dr. Parkes name for the research he has done while completing his newly published bookChildren's Literature and Capitalism: Fictions of Social Mobility in Britain, 1850-1914 (published by Palgrave Macmillan).
This book explores the changing relationship between the child and capitalist society in the works of some of the most important authors of the Victorian and Edwardian periods.
