Tutoring Opportunities

Tutoring Students

Local schools and parents often ask about teacher candidates who are willing to tutor. These opportunities benefit you as well as students; tutoring gives you the chance to practice your teaching, while helping students to learn.

To become available as a tutor, you must complete and then submit our Tutor Availability Form. If a school or parent contacts you to tutor, you must negotiate your own wage and schedule, as we do not have any formal tutoring agreements.

Peer Tutoring

You are also able to help other Lakehead University students to learn by becoming a peer tutor. By becoming a peer tutor, you are able to practice your teaching abilities while helping others to fulfill their goals.

To become a peer tutor, you must complete and then submit the Student Success Centre`s online application. To access, more information about peer tutoring as well as the Student Success Centre's application, see the Academic Skills Mentor Program.
