Rendezvous Fort William 1984

In celebration of the bicentennial of the Province of Ontario and of the founding of the North West Company, 36 daring students and staff of the Outdoor Recreation Department from Lakehead University undertook an epic journey from Lachine, Quebec to Fort William (Thunder Bay) Ontario. Using replica Montreal canoes (36 feet) and following the traditional route, these modern-day voyageurs paddled, sang, danced and presented fur trade stories to communities along the route.
