Lakehead University Career & Job Expo helps students explore employment options

Career and Job Expo 2013

Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 – Thunder Bay, ON

Lakehead University’s Career & Job Expo 2013 is an excellent opportunity for students to explore career options and hone their ability to find employment.

“We’re offering tips to get your foot in the door with employers to improve the chances of being hired,” said Christina Buzzi, Career and Employment Specialist with Lakehead University’s Student Success Centre.

“We hope as many students as possible take advantage of Career & Job Expo 2013,” Buzzi added.

Career & Job Expo 2013 will host a variety of premier Canadian organizations recruiting students and upcoming graduates for summer, co-op and permanent job opportunities.

“Lakehead’s exceptional, highly trained students have always been the right choice for employers in Northwestern Ontario and throughout the province,” said Lakehead President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Brian Stevenson.

The Career & Job Expo will provide Lakehead students with an opportunity to explore their employment options, meet industry professionals, and connect with employers. More than 25 companies will attend, with some conducting information sessions and prepared for on-the-spot job interviews while at Lakehead.

Scheduled attendees include hospitals, social service agencies, accounting firms, manufacturing companies, police services, communications companies, natural resources management organizations and more.

Media are invited to attend an 11 am media conference on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Student Success Information Table at the front of the Agora.
