Public History Field School

History 4831: Public History Field School Participants will engage in experiential learning while visiting historical and heritage sites and monuments from a wide range of chronological periods. The focus of the course is on how the historical past influences later history, including the present. The destination and duration will vary from year to year.

Recent Field School Opportunities:

  • Battlefields of Europe (partnered with Outdoor Recreation, Parks, and Tourism), 2017
  • Splendours of Ancient Italy (organized by the Department of Anthropology), 2016

 

Additionally, students also have the opportunity to gain credit through summer international programming.
