Presentation: "Rock Music and Conflict Transformation: Building the Post-Yugoslav 'Moral Imagination'"
The Department of History and the Thunder Bay Branch of the Canadian International Council are pleased to host Dr. Dalibor Misina, Assistant Professor of Sociology, Lakehead University, who will speak on "Rock Music and Conflict Transformation: Building the Post-Yugoslav 'Moral Imagination'."
Speaker's Bio: Dalibor Mišina is Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Lakehead University. His research focuses on popular culture and post- conflict societies, post-socialist memory, and transterritorialism. Dr. Mišina’s book Shake, Rattle and Roll: Yugoslav Rock Music and the Poetics of Social Critique deals with the socio-cultural impact of rock music in former Yugoslavia (the book will be available for sale at the event, at the price of $75).
