Event Location:
ATAC 3004 (Orillia faculty members can participate in OA 3041)

Attention NSERC-Eligible Faculty Member:

Are you currently preparing your NSERC Discovery Grant application?  Are you thinking of applying to NSERC in the future and just want a better idea as to what is involved?  Have you applied before, but this your first time applying using the Research Portal?

If so, you are invited to attend a series of NSERC Discovery Grant-related workshops on September 2 from 1:00 to 4:30 in ATAC 3004 (Orillia faculty members can participate in OA 3041). These workshops will be delivered by the Office of Research Service's NSERC Research Facilitator and Research Grants Officer.  Topics to be covered (specific times of workshops will be sent out to faculty later this month):

1.  Grant Writing 101
2.  NSERC Discovery Grant Crash Course
3.  Writing the Proposal
4.  How to Highlight the Training of HQP
5.  Insights from a current NSERC Evaluation Group Member

If your schedule permits, you can attend all of the workshops.  If not, attend the components that you able to. If you are able to attend, please send an e-mail to nserc.research@lakeheadu.ca by August 26.

Graduate students who want to know more about Canadian Grant writing culture are more than welcome to attend, as are faculty from other Tri-Council agencies who want a different perspective on writing strategic documents.

We look forward to seeing you there!
