FINTech: Connecting Innovations with the New Frontiers of Commerce

The goal of this panel and networking event is to introduce members of the Lakehead and Thunder Bay communities to the concept of FinTech, which can encompass any of the technological innovations that occur in the finance sector, focusing on fundraising, investing, financial transactions and many other applicable and ever-changing areas.
The tentative schedule includes a networking component moving into a 3 speaker panel, wrapping up the evening with a question and answer period.
FINTech can refer to many of the technologies that are currently disrupting banking, investing, fundraising, insurance and many other activities in the fi nance sector. This event will present a few ways in which technology is changing the fi eld, and cast light on future developments and challenges.
- 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm: Registration and Networking
- 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Guest speakers to present their specialized talk.
- 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm: Round table discussion, question and answer period using a moderator/panel format.
This event is open to community members and includes hot and cold appetizers.
