Speed Connect is an effective and enjoyable way for industry to meet a variety of Lakehead University researchers in a relaxed and entertaining setting.  Industry experts and researchers will be encouraged to present their expertise and discuss possible projects and collaborations.  Funding agencies will also be in attendance to advise stakeholders of eligible funding opportunities for future projects.

Developing Research Partnerships with Indigenous Communities

CIHR Project Grants: An Overview

This workshop is for you. The workshop will include a guest speaker who has experience as a CIHR adjudicator and who will offer an adjudicator’s perspective on building a strong application.

This workshop will give researchers pointers on preparing to talk to the media and give an inside perspective on how the media approach interviews. Attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in a mock interview with a peer and to get feedback from the facilitators.

This session looks at the various options available to researchers for creating an author ID to increase the visibility and accessibility of your research papers. Tools such as ORCID, ResearcherID or Scopus Author ID help to disambiguate author names, keep your research e-profile up-to-date and develop a research network.  We'll examine the main players in this field, their advantages, downsides and how they interact with each other.
