Prospective Students

At Lakehead University School of Nursing, we believe that the professional socialization process for students should begin during the first year of the BScN program.  Our students combine their study of human sciences (anatomy, physiology and biochemistry) and psychology with nursing theory, laboratory and clinical practice in first year.  During the fall term, the emphasis is on the interpersonal process (e.g., therapeutic communication) in a lab setting.  In the winter term of first year the students will provide basic nursing care to patients and residents in long-term care settings.
