Photo Requirements

For in-person Student Card production requests, Photo ID staff will take your picture. Click here for detailed photo requirements when applying for your Student Card online.

Photographs must show the Card holder’s unobstructed face (eyeglasses permitted). Hats and head coverings must not be worn, unless it is worn daily for religious beliefs or medical reasons.

If you normally cover your face you may, upon request, have your face photographed in private by a female photographer. To arrange for this, contact the Photo ID department in person at the Chancellor Paterson Library or via email at photoid@lakeheadu.ca. Arrangements must be made in advance and there may be a wait of 1-3 days.

Expiry

Student Cards do not need expiry stickers or validation stickers. Your Student Card is valid for as long as you attend Lakehead University.
