Today, we find ourselves feeling discouraged with uncertainty in many aspects of our lives. We have developed new routines, taken on new roles, redefined expectations and boundaries, while still trying to manage the emotional pressures of our “new” norm.  In our current situation, with increasingly demanding work and learning from home environments and without balance between self and others, stress can deplete your energy, optimism, efficiency, health, and joy – leading to burnout and mental health challenges.

With the right tools and some practical and effective self-care skills, you have the power to greatly decrease the negative effects of stress and increase personal health, happiness, and well-being. This interactive workshop will provide simple tips, practices, and ideas on how to support your own wellbeing and ways to keep yourself and others empowered, nourished, and supported.

This session is lead by Christina Furtado, the Mental Health and Wellness Specialist with guard.me.  She has spent over 25 years building awareness around mental health and wellness. Prior to becoming a mental health counsellor, Christina devoted 15 years to supporting students’ wellbeing as an educator within the k-12 sector. Christina continues to be a passionate advocate, bringing her expertise to the guard.meCARES platform through the Wellness and Learning Initiatives Program as well as getting involved in various mental health initiatives across Canada.
