Riipen is North America’s largest experiential learning platform dedicated to helping connect students with industry and community partners to complete short-term class projects, virtual internships, and co-operative education opportunities. This initiative is supported by the RBC Future Launch program. *Full details are available on the Teaching Commons Riipen resource page. Try the Level Up Program by Riipen! Students complete short-term projects from real organizations using skills they already have – and get paid to do it. Each project takes 80 hours per person, is worked on remotely, and has a flexible timeline to complete over 2-8 weeks. Projects can be completed individually or as part of a team, with each member earning a $1,400 stipend per project, whether it is in a group or solo.

Connector Program |
Connect to opportunities in Northwestern Ontario with the Northwest Connector Program! Despite the large geographic area of Northwestern Ontario, the people in our communities are very connected. Everyone knows everyone. As a result, employers often turn to their networks for referrals when looking to hire. Up to 80% of available jobs never get posted on a job board. That means new grads who have yet to establish a professional network may be missing opportunities to put their skills to work here. The Northwest Connector Program is an intentional, pay it forward, networking program that works in 3 simple steps:
The experience provides valuable insight into the local job market and sets the Connectee on the path to create their own success. The Connector gets to help cultivate new local talent, making their industry and our community grow stronger, more inclusive, and welcoming. It’s a win – win!
