Are you planning to take courses during the spring or summer? Did you know you may be eligible for an OSAP extension to assist you with your education costs?
You may be eligible for a Spring/Summer extension of your OSAP funding if your situation is one of the following:
Scenario 1: You received OSAP funding in the previous Fall/Winter or Winter-only semester.
If you received funding in the previous term you may qualify for an OSAP extension if you are and undergraduate student taking any of the following:
- 0.5 Full Course Equivalents: May only courses
- 1.0 Full Course Equivalents: May, June or May – June courses (0.5 FCE for students with a permanent disability)
- 1.5 Full Course Equivalents: May – July courses (1.0 FCE for student with a permanent disability)
- 1.5 Full Course Equivalents: May – August courses (1.0 FCE for student with a permanent disability)
If you are a graduate student and have registered in the Spring/Summer course you may also apply for the OSAP Spring/Summer extension.

Scenario 2: You did not receive OSAP funding in the previous semester.
If you did not receive OSAP funding in the previous semester you must apply on the OSAP website for the Spring/Summer session. You will also need to be registered in at least 1.5 Full Course Equivalents from May – August (i.e. the entire Spring/Summer term), otherwise you will not qualify for full-time OSAP.
You can review your online OSAP account to watch the release of your funding. If further documentation is required your OSAP account will indicate it. Make sure that all of your documentation is submitted immediately as the Spring/Summer session has very short turnaround times. The official dates are 40 days from the end of your study period.
