About the Event

This panel is aligned with our 2020 Research and Innovation Week theme, "Our Creative Mind" and will focus on "Research outside the box," defined as research that defies disciplinary boundaries, traditional research methods, and accepted understandings or theories. Research outside the box employs creative strategies and unique intersectoral partnerships to help us better understand and address a multi-faceted problem. It may involve participatory action research, experiential learning, living labs, arts-integrated research, storytelling, unique applications of social media or artificial intelligence, or other innovative methods. It may employ tools or techniques from one discipline to solve problems in another.

The panel will highlight how Lakehead researchers across disciplines are working "outside the box" to create change in their communities and the research process itself.
  • Light refreshments will be served.
