Communicating Your Research for Impact will include a Media workshop to help researchers better prepare to meet the specific demands of print and online media, radio, and television. The workshop will cover news factors (“What are reporters interested in?”), and gain an understanding of the media landscape, including the role of both traditional and digital media platforms, and the value of engaging with these audiences. In this workshop, participants will learn to evaluate the newsworthiness of their information and research, and how to engage with various media types. Information on Lakehead University’s media engagement protocol and procedures will be shared. The interactive format will include peer review content writing and mock interviews.
Light lunch will be provided for attendees.
