The Handshake Series: Everything You Need to Know About Contracts (For Entrepreneurs)
Gone are the days when agreements are made on good faith and a handshake. Whether you want to protect yourself, your company, your research project, or your intellectual property, you'll need to know all the basics about Contracts. There will be two sessions offered within this series:
For Faculty/Students: This workshop will focus on Research Agreements including: Industry Sponsored Research, Data Sharing, Confidentiality, Material Transfer, Service Agreements and more (Nov. 10th, 2022 11:30am-1pm)
For Entrepreneurs: This workshop will focus on Agreements regarding: Inventor Sharing, Intellectual Property, Confidentiality, Service Contracts, Terms of Use, and more. (Nov. 15th, 2022 11:30am-1pm)

Ellen MacKay, RTTP, M.Ed
Ellen MacKay is the Director of Innovation Development at Lakehead University, and has worked in technology transfer for 8 years. As a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP), Ellen works with faculty and students to identify, evaluate, and protect intellectual property developed at the University, as well as manages all commercialization and licensing activity. In addition, Ellen oversees the on-campus business incubator, Ingenuity, as well as all entrepreneurial activities on both the Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses. IPED is pleased to partner with local economic development, innovation, and entrepreneurship organizations, to support economic outreach within Thunder Bay, Simcoe Country and regions.
