Dr. Todd Dufresne, Department of Philosophy, Lakehead University and Dr. Mark Kingwell, Department of Philosophy, University of Toronto, invite you to a double book launch; an author Question and Answer session will follow with delivery of selected readings from their books.

Dr. Dufresne's  book, The Democracy of Suffering: Life on the Edge of Catastrophe, Philosophy in the Anthropocene was published with McGill-Queen's University Press, September 2019. You may read about the book in a new interview with Dufresne, "For the Love of Wisdom: Climate Change and the Revenge of History", recently published at the Los Angeles Review of Books (LARB).

The famous environmentalist, Bill McKibben, writes that "This is a very fine book: philosophy perfectly attuned to our precise -- and unique -- moment, a moment when our species has suddenly become very big indeed."

Dr. Kingwell's book, Wish I Were Here: Boredom and the Interface was published with McGill-Queen's University Press, April 2019.

All are welcome to attend this event in Toronto.
