The Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) is a provincial government organization responsible for the collection, interpretation, documentation and dissemination of public geoscience data and information. We provide accessible data through maps, reports, data releases and models.

The purpose of this session is to provide information about the OGS (Who are we? What do we do? How do we do it? Why do we do it?), to explain how to access publicly available geoscience data, and to provide students with an opportunity to meet some of our geoscientists. This presentation will outline the various sub-disciplines of geoscience that the Earth Resources and Geoscience Mapping Section of the OGS undertakes.

The OGS provides geoscience-related employment opportunities for students before and after graduation. Students have an opportunity to work and learn with internationally recognized geoscientists. Within the context of the pandemic and evolving work restrictions, positions may be field and/or office based.
