Indigenous Transfer Students
How we can help!
The Indigenous Transition Coordinator, Céline Wick, is here to assist Indigenous students to transition as seamlessly as possible into the academic culture at Lakehead University. Transferring from one institution to another can be overwhelming and students may experience a “culture shock.’’ The Indigenous Transition Coordinator is here to assist Indigenous transfer students in navigating the services, supports and resources available at Lakehead University.
Are you currently an Indigenous learner at another college, university, Indigenous Institute or Employment and Training Service and looking to transfer to Lakehead? Let Céline assist you in selecting the best transfer pathway and navigating the transition process.
Every student at Lakehead uses supports. Céline can assist you in finding the right supports and groups to make your Lakehead University experience as seamless and enriching as possible.
Our approach is culturally sensitive, collaborative and results oriented. Book an appointment with Céline to figure out how Lakehead University can support you in your studies.
Currently Lakehead University is partnering with a number of post-secondary institutions through an ONCAT funded project to improve seamless transitions for Indigenous students. Our current partnering institutions include Confederation College, Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute, Anishinabek Employment and Training Services and Seven Generations Education Institute. If you are currently enrolled at one of these institutions and are considering transferring to Lakehead University, the Indigenous Transition Coordinator can help.
