Indigenous Graduate Speaker Series – Sharing Stories and Learning from Each Other

The Indigenous Student Services Centre is pleased to share this inspiring student speaker series. Join to learn about these Indigenous graduate students and their experiences along their educational journey.  

The first speaker in the series is Nathaniel Anderson. Nathaniel is a student in the Master of Science in Management Program. He is currently completing his course work, while preparing his graduate research proposal, which will focus on the barriers and challenges faced by Indigenous peoples when pursuing a career in accounting. Plan to join to learn about Nathaniel’s educational journey.

Nathaniel Anderson is of Indigenous descent and comes from the Treaty 9 region in Northwestern Ontario. He is originally from Kasabonika Lake First Nation but resides in Thunder Bay, Ontario where he is a graduate student in the Lakehead University, Master of Science in Management Program. He is currently completing his course work, while preparing his graduate research proposal, which will focus on the barriers and challenges faced by Indigenous peoples when pursuing a career in accounting. Nathaniel has completed his Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree at Lakehead University with a Specialization in Accounting and has experience in public practice working at BDO Canada LLP.  He wishes to explore these barriers and help reduce the barriers to increase the Indigenous participation in all accounting and finance fields
