Fall Harvest

Saturday, September 14th, 2019 ~ 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Lakehead University Sweat Lodge Site

Together, Aboriginal Initiatives and Aboriginal Cultural & Support Services extend a friendly, campus-wide invitation to the Lakehead University community to our annual Fall Harvest.  This orientation event is an opportunity to meet, engage, and connect with the local Aboriginal community.

All students, staff and faculty are invited to come out and experience Aboriginal culture through teachings shared by our traditional Elders.

Fall Harvest will be held on Saturday, September 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the sweat lodge site.

Join the Elders as they share hand-drum songs and teachings, sweat lodge teachings, traditional medicine teachings, and harvest medicines from Gitigaan (garden) located at the sweat lodge site.  Sample fresh pickerel, sturgeon, bannock, blueberries and various teas.  Learn about the moccasin making process and much more!

Everyone is welcome to attend and we look forward to seeing you there, rain or shine!
