COU Colleague and Alternate: Terms

Resolved that,

To recommend that Senate approve the following "Terms of the Academic Colleague and Alternate" Policy:

 (a) The Academic Colleague to the COU will be elected by full-time faculty for a three year term, serving a maximum of two consecutive terms.

Extension of Term and Reappointment of the President

 

I - Scope and Principles

 

1.   Extension of Term. The Board may, on recommendation of the Executive Committee after consultation with Board members and the President, and with the agreement of the President, extend the term of an incumbent President once only for a period of up to one year at a salary and on terms acceptable to the Board.

Policy Statement
 
The Lakehead University Board of Governors provides for deputations by appointment from interested parties in the University community at open meetings of the Board of Governors according to the guidelines set out below. The Chair of the Board will oversee deputation appointments at Board meetings in keeping with this Policy, relevant legislation, Board Bylaws, and University policies.

RESOLUTION OF POTENTIAL FOR CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SENATE AND FACULTY OF GRADUATE STUDIES COUNCIL

POLICY STATEMENT BY SENATE:  Any proposals originating with the Graduate Studies Council be referred by Senate to the Senate Academic Committee, preferably to a standing sub-committee with a mandate to consider such proposals, and/or where appropriate, to the Senate Budget Committee
