Distinguished Researcher Awards Guidelines

Deadline: November 30

Description

The Distinguished Researcher Award is the highest honour conferred by Lakehead University for research and scholarly activity. As such, the award will only rarely be given to the same scholar twice in their career, and only then if their research and scholarly activity was sustained at a high level over a period of at least two decades. Typically, the award recognizes a full career of internationally recognized intellectual contributions, including:

Distinguished Instructor Award

 

The Distinguished Instructor Award is Lakehead University's most prestigious teaching award. It recognizes a significant contribution to teaching excellence and educational innovation and leadership at Lakehead University over a number of years.  One award per year may be bestowed.

The recipient of the Distinguished Instructor Award will be honoured during a public lecture scheduled in the following academic year.  The recipient will be publicly recognized at Senate and Convocation, and will receive a monetary award of  $2, 000.00.

Award to Staff for Outstanding Performance and/or Contributions


Purpose

To recognize and reward outstanding performance and/or contributions to the University by a non-faculty employee of Lakehead University.

The Award
1.  a certificate within a Lakehead University folder; and  
2.  a monetary award of $2,000.
