Under the general direction of the Director, Biorefining Research Institute, the laboratory manager/research associate is responsible for the following laboratory activities:

 

- Operate and maintain 15 research instruments

- Manage laboratory and address researchers’ need regarding laboratory items

  and experimentations

- Be responsible for the safety of the laboratory - Train new students to use instruments

- Order and track chemical, supply and instrument purchase and repairs

- Conduct high quality research under the supervision of Dr. Fatehi

- Help with the revisions, experimentations, and publications of research results

- Help with conference presentation preparation

 

The successful candidate has a PhD in chemical engineering or chemistry, along with experience in biorefining research, managing labs, ordering chemicals and dealing with vendors.
