Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for two 3-year limited term appointment in the Department of Computer Science. The positions will commence on August 1,2021 at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Limited Term Appointment (2 positions): Applicants will be expected to teach a range of core computer science courses at the undergraduate level, such as Computer Programming, Computer Architecture, Data Structure, Artificial Intelligence and some specialized courses like Clinical Decision Support and Mobile Computing. The applicants are also expected to offer graduate courses like Deep Learning and Theoretical Computer Science, as well as supervise MSc projects/Theses. A strong research or potential to conduct high impact research is also essential for this position.

The successful candidates are expected to initiate an externally funded research program and contribute to the supervision of graduate students in our MSc. Program. Additionally, the candidates are expected to actively participate and support the department activities.  Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline. Prior teaching and post-doctoral experience will be considered as an asset. Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of course delivery is highly desired.

The Department of Computer Science is a fast-growing department with a total of 14 full-time faculty members including one research chair. Our faculty members are involved in various externally funded research programs.
