The Faculty of Engineering seeks a dynamic self-initiating technologist dedicated to exemplary lab instruction and guidance of students, housed in the Department of Civil Engineering in Thunder Bay.
The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Civil Engineering. The level of the position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is expected to start on August 1, 2020.
The incumbent will be responsible for the organization, development and control of assigned laboratories, equipment maintenance and repair, prototyping, testing and construction and/or purchase of required equipment, supervision and instruction of students in laboratories, marking of laboratory reports, preparing, administering and evaluating laboratory quizzes to students, assisting faculty and graduate students with their teaching and research, and coordinating field activities where applicable. The incumbent will be expected to work in laboratory environments without supervision.
Minimum qualifications for the position are a technology diploma in civil engineering. Higher degrees and professional registration are preferred.
