Department of Anthropology – Contract Lecturers (Barrie)

Lakehead University, Barrie, invites applications for Contract Lecturers - Applications are requested to teach the following course:

Anthropology 1032 FAB — Introduction to Biological Anthropology & Archaeology

Starting Date and Duration:        September 8 – December 7, 2020

A general introduction to biological anthropology and archaeology. The course covers topics ranging from the biological origin of humans, the appearance of human culture, and the rise of civilization.

 Qualifications Preferred:   The ideal candidate would have a PhD in Anthropology or related field with significant expertise related to the topic they will be teaching. The minimum requirement is a Master’s degree.

Review of applications will begin on March 2, 2020 and continue until the position is filled. The electronic application (in the form of one PDF document) should include: a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness (including a statement of teaching philosophy, course outlines and teaching evaluations for previously-taught courses), a statement of a research plan (current and future interests), copies of the three most significant publications, and the names and contact information of three references.
