The Department of Civil Engineering at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Structural Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing August 1, 2018. Preference will be given to those individuals who have experience in experimental methods and would be able to develop research in one or more of the following areas: bridge engineering; retrofit and rehabilitation of existing structures; mechanics and design of reinforced concrete; structural design subject to fire or blast; hybrid composite construction.
The successful candidate will be expected to initiate a vigorous externally funded research program, supervise graduate student research, participate in service activities and work effectively with colleagues. The successful candidate must hold a baccalaureate degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field and a PhD in Civil Engineering or related field specialized in any area of Structural Engineering.
Acquiring Professional Engineering registration in a province of Canada is a mandatory condition for employment in this position.
