Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a nine-month limited term appointment in the Department of Music in the area of Piano Performance and Pedagogy. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2017 at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching in the areas of Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy with experience in Musicianship and any additional areas of expertise. The Department seeks to recruit a candidate with a demonstrated ability to contribute to a collaborative and innovative working environment, focused on teaching, scholarly and performance activities. We are looking for a dynamic individual with an ability to teach and nurture students in a supportive learning environment.
Preferred candidates will have a) an earned Doctorate degree in piano performance from an institution recognized by Canadian Universities; b) a demonstrated commitment to teaching at the undergraduate levels that complements the needs of the program and the Faculty; and c) evidence of potential for scholarly and artistic accomplishments. Candidates will be expected to teach 6 half courses over the fall and winter terms of the 2017-18 academic year, and participate in service to the Department and the University.
