Tenure Track Faculty Positions - Thunder Bay Campus

Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for one tenure-track appointment with focus on Epidemiology or Biostatistics in the Department of Health Sciences to commence July 1, 2017 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants must have a completed PhD in a related field (e.g., Epidemiology, Biostatistics).

The Department of Health Sciences currently offers Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Health Sciences (MHSc) programs, where students have the option of completing a specialization in Epidemiology, Indigenous and Northern Health, or Gerontology. The Department also collaborates with the School of Nursing to offer MPH students a Specialization in Nursing (which also integrates a Nurse Practitioner program, i.e., MPH-NP), and with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine to offer an MPH-MD program. The MPH program`s acknowledged expertise in distance and technology-assisted programming supports the educational needs of current and aspiring public health professionals by offering flexible full time and distance learning options.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach in the MPH and MHSc programs, as well as in the PhD program in Health Sciences and BHSc in Health Sciences currently in development. The incumbent will be expected to develop a strong research program in his/her area of expertise, in a milieu in which current faculty members are very active researchers.
