Winter Orientation: January 3, 2019

This one day welcome program is for all new, incoming Lakehead students. If you are a domestic or international student about to begin your #LakeheadAdventure, join us for Winter Orientation 2019 to learn some secrets to success and get comfortable in your new home!

10:00 am - Registration & Sign-in

Sign-in at the welcome table just inside the front doors of the Paterson Library and meet your facilitator, Richard, our Student Engagement Advisor.

10:15 am - Lakehead 101

Get to know your new home! Discover what it’s like to live and study at Lakehead. We’ll also share with you some of our favourite things to do on Campus and in Thunder Bay.

11:15 am -  Are You Ready For Academic Success?

In this session, we’ll provide you with information about the best practices students use for success at University in their academics, as well as with their social life and overall wellness.

12:00 pm - Next Steps As a Lakehead Student

After attending Winter Orientation and registering for classes, now what? We’ll provide you with lots of direction to ensure you know what’s next on the list of things to do as you prepare for your Lakehead Adventure.

12:30 pm - Lunch Break

Discover the tasty food options from Aramark in our Main Cafeteria and enjoy the view of Lake Tamblyn, we might even see some otters playing on the ice!

1:00 pm - Orientation Campus Tour

Take a tour around as you learn to navigate campus, explore the facilities and talk with Student Services. Be sure to get your student card while we're at it!

2:00 pm - Help with Registration

Visit Student Central and gain an understanding about program requirements, register for classes, learn about Financial Aid, Awards and payment options. Our Student Central Professionals can help you with course registration as well.
